Facebook has this week committed to slashing its greenhouse gas emissions by 75% and powering its global operations with 100% renewable energy by the end of 2020.

The tech giant said it is “on track” to be one of the largest corporate purchases of renewable energy, following a year of corporate renewable energy purchases.

Since it’s first purchase of wind power back in 2013, the company has singed contracts for over 3 GW of new solar and wind energy.

The last twelve months alone has seen the company sign over 2,500 MW.
